Advantek Taiwan was recently honored with a Certificate of Appreciation from ASE Holdings during its 2024 Supplier Awards, recognizing participation in their Supply Chain Carbon Verification Project. ASE is one of the world’s largest providers of outsourced semiconductor assembly and test (OSAT) services and a leading electronic manufacturing services (EMS) provider.

Among hundreds of suppliers, Advantek was one of eight to receive this distinction. Jessica Wu, Vice President of Sales for Northeast Asia, accepted the certificate on Advantek’s behalf.

“We are proud to be the sole embossed carrier tape supplier recognized by ASE this year,” said Norton Kuo, Plant Director for Taiwan.

“The award highlights Advantek Taiwan’s successful verification by an accredited third party for ISO 14064 and ISO 14067 standards, along with strong performance in ASE’s audits.

The most recent sessions in Taiwan and Shanghai reinforced key leadership principles and provided hands-on training to enhance management capabilities.

In Taiwan, a three-day course brought together supervisors, front-line leaders, and high-potential employees to sharpen essential leadership skills. The sessions emphasized teamwork, collaboration, and structured management, equipping participants with practical tools to navigate daily leadership challenges.

Interactive exercises encouraged reflection on how leadership extends beyond task delegation to guiding teams toward shared goals.

At Advantek Shanghai, a refresher course focused on strengthening leadership fundamentals for managers and HR professionals. A key exercise challenged participants to convey instructions without visual aids, underscoring the importance of clear communication in effective leadership.

The session highlighted three core leadership skills:

• Clear Communication – Ensuring accuracy to prevent misunderstandings
• Teamwork – Navigating time-sensitive, role-specific collaboration
• Leadership Alignment – Providing direction and empowering team members

Helen Mangente, Advantek’s Global Compliance Director, recently spoke to STEM students at Sto. Tomas Senior High in Batangas, Philippines, sharing insights on environmental sustainability.

She covered an evolution of environmental challenges, from ozone depletion to managing greenhouse gasses and climate change. Frameworks like ISO 14001 and ISO 10064, as well as international protocols were highlighted – with a focus on effective monitoring, evaluation, and transparency being key factors to meaningful improvement.

The discussion gave students a deeper understanding of how businesses can balance social responsibility, environmental stewardship, and economic viability.
